After the incredibly Blizzcon weekend and before the Capcom Cup, you wouldn’t think there’d be much to watch. But you’d be wrong! Between competitive mainstays and a couple of oddities, there’s more than enough gaming to watch this weekend.
The last stop on the Capcom Pro Tour before the finals in December isn’t until next week, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something to watch. You can catch hours of Smash action by watching Smash The Record 2016, which will feature both a Super Smash Bros. Melee (Stream / Schedule), Super Smash Bros. For Wii U (Stream) and speedrunning (Steam / Schedule) events.
You can catch the tail-end of two bit Dota 2 tournaments this weekend. First, we have the ROG Masters tournament, which features several teams with players from Asia fighting for a $150,000 prize pool. (Stream / Schedule) Second you can watch the Northern Arena BEAT Invitational, which will have teams from the West fighting for a slightly smaller (but still large) $100,000 prize pool (Stream / Schedule)
If you finished watching the Overwatch World Cup and still want more, you can catch Beyond the Summit’s Route 66 Cup this weekend, which will feature fewer nation-based teams and more traditional eSports ones. (Stream / Schedule)
If instead you’re fiending for high-level Hearthstone, you can watch the HTC Mayhem tournament, which will take place today starting at 12:30pm Central Time. (Stream)
Finally, we have the Rocket League Regional Championships for North America, which will have teams fighting for a $25,000 prize pool. (Stream)
That’s it for this weekend! Let us know if we missed anything in the comments below.
